Alterations / Crowns of Glory, Solo Exhibition
Remote Gallery, Toronto, 2023
Alterations - unexpected changes that take place as part of adopting a new state of self. A natural process of transformation that employs a set of repetitive actions leading to formation of new unique patterns and connections balanced by their own polarities. Each painting and drawing is a transformative alteration of its previous one.

In “Alterations /Crowns of Glory”, I focus on the theme of personal growth and the fluidity of identity. Drawing inspiration from orthodox churches and the Renaissance era, I explore the transformative journey of the self, starting from a familiar place and venturing into the unknown to evolve. My artworks mirror the complexities of personal metamorphosis, depicting the delicate balance between past and present and symbolizing the ever-changing nature of our identities.

Each canvas in the series narrates a transformative tale, inviting viewers to contemplate the ever-changing nature of their own identities. Stylized narratives and painted cut canvas evoke a profound sense of introspection, prompting us to explore the inherent power of shaping our own destinies through the stories we weave therefore by choosing which parts of the narrative we see and want to keep, and which parts are we ready to let go of.
